To mark Nota’s tenth anniversary, we shifted our focus back to the people. As the company grew rapidly, we wanted to hear what kinds of experiences our members had and which moments they held close.
Today’s interview is with Huiseong Gim from the NP Core Research team. He has taken on new responsibilities across several teams and has grown steadily through collaboration and quiet persistence. During this tenth anniversary, he also invited the largest number of family members. His reason was simple. He wanted to show his workplace to his young nephew, who dreams of becoming a scientist.
In that wish, we saw how Huiseong views Nota and how the past few years have shaped him.
ㅣGrowth Built From Small Accomplishments
Hello. Could you briefly introduce yourself.
Hello. My name is Huiseong, and I work in the NP Core Research team, focusing on running model pipelines.

It has been almost three years since you joined. What moment stands out the most.
Small accomplishments stay with me more than dramatic events. I especially remember breaking down a difficult problem with my teammates and feeling a sense of achievement as we solved it piece by piece. I also remember stepping out into the cool night air after finishing a project around this time last year. That moment remains vivid.
What positive influences have you felt while working at Nota.
Two things come to mind. First, I stopped setting limits for myself. I moved through several teams, including Infra, HAI, and now Core Research. Even when tasks felt overwhelming, solving them one by one gave me confidence that I could handle bigger problems. I hesitate less when facing new challenges now.
Second, I was inspired by my colleagues. Across the company, there is shared trust in our Core Values and Leadership Principles. People voluntarily share research and technical insights, often giving answers beyond what was expected. That has influenced me in a very positive way.
If you were to describe Nota in one phrase, what would it be.
I thought of “balance in motion.” Work and communication never feel too heavy or too light. There is order within autonomy, and balance between ideas and action. It is not perfect, but that is what makes it exciting.
We heard you also have a positive impression of Nota’s leadership.
Yes. I see the leadership team as people who constantly search for better ways. From communication styles to internal operations, they explore different options and continue trying even when there is no clear answer. I appreciate that mindset.
ㅣA Workplace That Helps Someone’s Dream Become Clearer
During the anniversary event, you invited the largest number of family members. Why was that.
My nephew wants to be a scientist. He is very curious about what I do and wanted to see my workplace. I thought it would be a good experience, so I invited my sister’s whole family. If I only invited my nephew, the others might feel left out. (laughs)

How do you think your nephew will react when he sees your workplace.
I think he will be thrilled. Since the environment is nice and he can experience the technology directly, it will feel like a new world to him.
“So uncle does not just sit at a computer.” “Is this what being a scientist feels like.”
He will probably walk around with curiosity and get a more realistic sense of what scientific work looks like. I imagine he will talk about the visit for days afterward.

How would you explain your work to him.
I want to tell him, “I help the smart friend inside the computer work well.” Since I work on making sure the model runs and the technology functions from end to end, it is about breaking down large problems into smaller ones and solving them step by step.
And when all those steps come together, they become technology that helps people work more easily and live more safely. At that point I would upgrade the explanation to, “I help make the world a little more convenient.”

Huiseong’s story shows how quiet achievements and steady growth can shape a person’s journey. These experiences came together in a meaningful moment during the tenth anniversary, when he invited his family to share the world he works in. For him, Nota is a place where someone’s future can become clearer and more imaginable.
If such experiences continue to accumulate and build on one another, they will form the foundation for the next decade of Nota.
