Meeting Jaewoo, a Colleague Whose Journey Has Brought Hope to Nota

The year 2025 marks the tenth anniversary of Nota. It has also been one of the busiest years due to the company’s IPO. To close out this milestone year, the team blog prepared a series of interviews with various members of the organization.
Today’s guest is Jaewoo Song from the NetsPresso Core Research team, who works remotely from Hong Kong, more than 2000 kilometers from the Seoul office. Despite the distance, Jaewoo is one of the people who feels closest to Nota. From internal tech contests to the one trillion KRW market cap celebration event, he joins every activity with enthusiasm and always brings joy to his colleagues. Perhaps it is his humor that turns difficult moments into laughter. Even from afar, his presence is always strongly felt at Nota.
ㅣFrom a Fan to a Colleague
Hello, could you introduce yourself briefly.
Hello. My name is Jaewoo Song, and I work in the NetsPresso Core Research team.
You have now been with Nota for about a year, working remotely from overseas. What has been the most memorable moment for you.
The moment I remember most is when I first discovered Nota. In 2022, I attended the TinyML Summit to present my paper, and that was where I first met Myungsoo and Kyunghwan. I became interested in the company right away. I even wrote this in my application last year, but on that very day I followed the Nota Facebook page and became a big fan of the company. That initial connection eventually led me to join Nota, so the 2022 *TinyML Summit is the most memorable moment for me.

Your connection with Nota began much earlier than your employment. Since joining, what positive influence has Nota had on you.
I have grown a lot. The company’s environment naturally exposes you to many different areas instead of just one. Since we work in a fast moving industry, I encounter new challenges that push me to grow. I feel that I developed a lot during this year thanks to the company, and I am truly grateful.
If you were to describe Nota in a single word, what would it be.
Hope. This word holds many layers. Nota turned ten this year. Over the nine years before I joined, many people must have gone through challenges I cannot imagine. Reaching the IPO after all those difficulties is one meaning of hope.
You said the word has many layers. What is another meaning of hope for you.
Another meaning is that Nota gives hope even to people outside the company. When I look back on the past year, we went through many difficult moments together. Yet everyone kept believing that it could work. I felt that hope too. Watching Nota overcome challenges seems to inspire people both inside and outside the company. This positive influence, created when we push through obstacles, is the hope that Nota represents.

After hearing Jaewoo’s answers, another question naturally followed. How is he able to care so deeply about Nota even from so far away.
Why do you like Nota so much.
I believe the identity of a company comes from its people. Everyone at Nota is genuine. I like the company and the people in it. My team members, colleagues from other teams, everyone I worked with showed a sincere desire to contribute to Nota. And I think Nota brings in people who share that sincerity.
It is impressive how deeply you care about the company even while working remotely. What makes you feel this way.
The atmosphere is very supportive. Nota is not the kind of company where people say they will only focus on their own tasks. Instead, people often ask if there is anything more they can help with. I have seen many moments of collaboration and kindness during the past year. Even while working remotely, I feel the team spirit strongly, which makes me care even more.
You first learned about Nota in 2022 and will continue learning about it in the years to come. What do you hope Nota will look like ten years from now.
When companies talk about the next five or ten years, they often talk about size or revenue. Those are important, but more than that, I hope Nota continues to be a company that brings hope. I hope that ten years from now, Nota becomes a place that inspires an even wider group of people.
You believe Nota gives hope even outside the company.
Yes. I truly believe Nota brings hope to many people in Korea. This is an intangible asset, but it has real impact. I hope it continues to inspire people both inside the company and outside. To me, Nota is a company that makes people feel good and hopeful. I hope it continues to be a place that makes people happy.

From the hope he mentioned at the beginning to the future he imagined at the end, every word from Jaewoo felt sincere and warm. Listening to him, it is easy to smile and dream along with him. His affection for Nota was so full that even while writing this piece, we felt an unexpected sense of comfort and joy.
