Nota's Recruitment Process: All You Need To Know.

Updated: Apr 2

Searching, choosing, and applying for the right company to build your career is a journey filled with careful thought and uncertainty—something everyone who’s worked at a company has experienced. To support those of you aiming to take your first step toward joining Nota, we’ve gathered some of the most frequently asked questions from candidates. From an overview of our hiring process to practical details that may not be immediately visible in our job postings, we’ve put together answers to help guide you along the way.

Q1. How does Nota's recruitment process work?

In general, Nota’s hiring process follows this sequence: Document Screening → Screening Interview → 1st Interview (Role/Technical) → 2nd Interview (Culture Fit) → Offer.

However, depending on the position, additional steps such as a coding test or assignment may be included. For details, please refer to the job description of the position you’re applying for.

Q2. When can I expect to know the results of an application or interview?

We understand how long the waiting period can feel, especially without clear timelines. That’s why we do our best to notify applicants of the outcome within 10 days for document screening, and within 7 days after each assignment or interview. Please note that timelines may vary slightly depending on the position or situation, and we appreciate your understanding.

Q3. Are there any helpful resources to peruse before making an application?

If you’d like to learn more about Nota, we highly recommend visiting our official website and team blog. The website offers detailed information about our services and solutions, while the team blog shares insights into our company culture—covering our Core Values (CV), Leadership Principles (LP), and more. You’ll also find various press articles and external features, so feel free to explore those as well based on your areas of interest.

Q4. Are there any important considerations to make when submitting documents?

At Nota, we strive to thoroughly review each applicant’s capabilities and experience. To help us better understand your strengths, we strongly encourage you to include any materials that showcase your work—whether it’s a portfolio, GitHub profile, presentation slides, or any other format. If submitted materials are limited, there’s a chance we may miss your full potential, which would be just as unfortunate for us as it is for you. So feel free to share anything that best represents your skills—there’s no fixed format.

Q5. Are there recruitment assignments for all positions?

Not all positions come with a recruitment assignment. However, most R&D roles typically involve both a coding test and a remote assignment designed by the team. The presence and format of an assignment can vary depending on the position, so we recommend checking the specific job posting for details.

Q6. Are the recruitment assignments difficult?

Some roles at Nota include assignments to help us understand both your strengths and practical skills. These assignments often reflect the kind of work you’ll be doing after joining the team.Rather than focusing solely on getting the “right” answer, we pay close attention to how you understand and approach the problem, and how you structure your logic to reach a solution. The level of difficulty can feel different depending on your experience and background—and yes, in some cases, the assignment might be quite challenging. But remember: the goal of the assignment is to evaluate your problem-solving mindset, not just your output. We also offer flexible timelines to ease the burden, so please don't feel too pressured.

It’s true this part of the process can be a challenge—but it's also what makes our team strong. Everyone currently at Nota has gone through it, and we believe it’s part of what makes working here so rewarding. 🙂

Q7. How are the interviews conducted, and what should I prepare?

At Nota, the interview process typically involves two rounds following the screening interview.

The 1st interview is a job-related and technical interview conducted in person, usually with the team lead and other team members you'll potentially be working with. This interview focuses on assessing your capabilities for the role through questions about your past work experience and relevant knowledge. Many of the questions are based on your resume and portfolio, so we highly recommend reviewing both your submitted documents and the job description beforehand.

The 2nd interview is a culture-fit interview conducted by the People & Culture team. Based on Nota’s Core Values (CV) and Leadership Principles (LP), this session explores whether you'd be a good cultural fit as a future member of the team. You can find many helpful insights on our team blog, which introduces aspects of life and culture at Nota—we encourage you to read through it before the interview.

Lastly, there's no dress code at Nota. You're welcome to attend the interview in whatever you feel most comfortable in. Our team members will also be dressed casually and ready to greet you warmly.

Q8. What are the next steps if my application is successful?

Once you pass all stages of the interview process and receive a final offer, we’ll ask for a few personal details to prepare your offer letter. From there, we’ll work together to confirm your start date and finalize compensation and other onboarding arrangements. Your first day at Nota will begin with an onboarding session, where we’ll introduce you to the company’s history, work policies, day-to-day guides, and collaboration tools—all the essentials to help you get started smoothly.

We also provide a newcomer’s To-Do list and a welcome kit to help you settle in with ease. Over the first three months, you'll participate in a range of onboarding programs designed to support your adaptation and growth at Nota. We’re here to make sure you feel at home from day one.

Q9. Is there any additional information that would be helpful for prospective applicants?

There are two key things we’d love to highlight. First, Nota is a certified corporate-affiliated research institute, and we regularly hire Technical Research Personnel. In fact, all R&D positions this year are open to both new assignments and transfers under the Technical Research Personnel program. If you're eligible, we encourage you to apply.

Second, we offer a ₩1,000,000 welcome bonus to candidates who apply through our official recruitment page and join Nota as a full-time employee. Even if you found the job posting on another platform, be sure to submit your application via our careers page to receive the bonus! 🙂

A final message from the Recruitment Manager

Throughout the recruitment process, one of the most frequent questions we receive is about Nota’s culture—“Is it really as autonomous and communication-driven as it sounds?” It's a fair question, and we understand the skepticism. But at Nota, we truly believe in building a trust-based working environment, rather than relying on strict rules or rigid structures. Each team is empowered to shape its own working style and culture, while the company as a whole stays aligned through shared direction and collective growth. Across the organization, we value feedback, open dialogue, and a shared commitment to improvement. This culture of mutual respect and continuous reflection is one of Nota’s greatest strengths. If you're looking for a place where you can grow your capabilities and collaborate with driven, talented colleagues—we hope you’ll consider joining us on this journey 🙂
