Nota's Recruitment Process: All You Need To Know.


 

Beginning a career or searching for a new job is not easy. We've all been there, searching high and low for that perfect position. In this article, we've compiled a list from our hiring managers of some of the most frequently asked questions they often receive. From Nota's hiring process, to more helpful and practical general information, Seungwoo Ahn from the recruitment department of our People & Culture team is here to help.

 

Q1. How does Nota's recruitment process work?

Nota's recruitment process generally goes as follows: Document screening > Online Interview & Assignment > First interview (Job overview/Technical aspects) > Second interview (Company culture compatibility) > Final confirmation. There is room for change and adjustment depending on the role, but this is a good general outline of our procedure.

Q2. When can I expect to know the results of an application or interview?

We understand the feeling uneasy of limbo that often arises after an application or interview, so we strive to inform applicants of the result within seven days. This may vary depending on the nature of the position, but in most cases you can find out the result within a week.



Q3. Are there any helpful resources to peruse before making an application?

While you can readily find information about Nota online, we highly recommend visiting the company's official website and teamblog. Our official site is the best place to go to learn about our services and solutions. While the blog offers a wealth of content highlighting Nota's working culture, core values (CV) and leadership principles (LP). Everything that you might need to know can be found on these sites, and will aid you in any application.




Q4. Are there any important considerations to make when submitting documents?

It is highly recommended that you include documents and materials that effectively demonstrate your abilities and relevant work experience. Failure to do so may harm your chances of success. During the recruitment process we will thoroughly read over your documents to gauge your suitability and potential for the role. There are no hard and fast rules, please submit any form of evidence that showcases your skills and experience, like a portfolio or GitHub ID, for example.



Q5. Are there recruitment assignments for all positions?

No, not all positions will require an assignment. However, for most Research & Development roles, coding tests and remote assignments will be part of the process. Tests and assignments vary from role to role, please refer to the specific recruitment announcements for more information.



Q6. Are the recruitment assignments difficult?

Our recruitment assignments are specifically tailored to assess an applicant's skill and practical ability. Every assignment includes tasks and aspects of work that are very similar to what will be carried out should the applicant be successful in their application. The priority is to determine how each candidate approaches problem-solving, and what they do to achieve their results.


That is to say that yes, they might be quite difficult, and certainly not easy. To alleviate some of the potential stress, we are flexible with the timeline during the process. How difficult an assignment is will ultimately depend on the candidate's skill, knowledge and level of experience. Don't be disheartened! Every Nota team member has already gone through the same process during their own application.



Q7. How are the interviews conducted, and what should I prepare?

Our interview process consists of two stages. The first interview will be conducted by the team leader of your prospective department, and will cover the job and its more technical aspects. We will be primarily interested in your previous work experience, and your knowledge related to the role. We may also ask you some follow-up questions regarding some of the documents you submitted as part of your application, we highly recommend that you thoroughly review your documents and the job description before the first interview.


The second follow-on interview will be conducted by the People & Culture team, and it will focus on the culture at Nota, and how you fit within it. Specifically, we will assess how well you align with our core values (CV) and leadership principles (LP). Nota's team blog is an invaluable resource to learn about the culture of Nota, and we recommend reading over it beforehand.


One final point on interviews. Nota does not have a specific dress code, so feel free to attend your interview dressed how you like. Our casually dressed interviewing staff be happy to welcome you, whatever you are wearing.



Q8. What are the next steps if my application is successful?

After successfully interviewing, we will request your personal details to proceed with a formal written offer. During this time, we will also discuss some of the finer details regarding your start date, and contract.


Once this is all wrapped up, you will be guided through an onboarding session on your first day to welcome you to Nota. Here we will provide you with information on Nota's history, our work policies, lifestyle guides, and collaborative tools. You will also be given a newcomers 'to-do list' and a welcome kit to help you ease into things. Our onboarding program has been specifically designed to help new recruits settle in over the course of a few months. Before long, we are sure you will soon feel part of the team!

Q9. Is there any additional information that would be helpful for prospective applicants?

First off, Technical Research Personnel are in high demand. Nota is a corporate-affiliated research institute and often recruits specialized researchers. This year, there are many good opportunities within the R&D department for Technical Reseach Personnel. If this is something that interests you, we would warmly welcome your application.
