What Do We Do After Work?

The day of an office worker can generally be divided into three parts: time spent sleeping, time spent working at the office, and time after work. How do you spend your time after work?

It seems like much of the day is often spent in the office or commuting, which can feel repetitive. Naturally, such routines and work-related tasks can lead to stress and fatigue. This is why post-work hours become even more valuable. It’s a time just for yourself, away from the workplace, where each of us unwinds and recharges in our own way. Some may spend time with family or friends, others may exercise to stay healthy, indulge in hobbies, or pursue self-development through study.

Because people are multi-faceted, who we are at work doesn’t define us completely. In fact, our “work self” might not fully represent who we are at all, as we each carry many different aspects of ourselves. That’s why I’m curious—how do you spend your time after work? And how does that time empower you?

ㅣWhat are your hobbies?

You've likely heard the saying that maintaining a healthy balance between work and relaxation is key. After talking to the crew members, I’ve come to realize just how diverse their hobbies are. Some love going to concerts of their favorite artists, others are passionate about traveling and collect badges as keepsakes, while many stay active through fitness, boxing, or enjoy exploring different music genres.

The question, "What are your hobbies?" is one we often ask when meeting someone new or trying to get to know them better. It's a great way to learn more about a person. By reading the self-introduction posters on our bulletin board, I've noticed how people spark new conversations about their interests. I believe that sharing hobbies not only helps us connect with others but also allows us to discover new aspects of ourselves. Seeing the wide variety of passions among the team often makes me think, "Maybe I should pick up a new hobby" or "I want to try something new!"

With so many employees pursuing different hobbies, it's no surprise that they often share these interests with each other. Whether it's gaming or working out, you’ll frequently find team members engaging in their favorite activities together. They share tips, form small groups, and make time to enjoy their passions. The crew members seem to strike a great balance between work and relaxation, with hobbies playing a significant role in their daily lives. It's truly inspiring to see how they fill their time in such varied and meaningful ways.

ㅣCurious about Nota clubs?

At Nota, we actively support the crew members’ hobbies and strive to create an enjoyable work environment. We know that the employees are the driving force behind the company, and there’s strength in doing things together.

People with shared interests have started forming clubs at Nota. To support these activities, Nota provides funding for club activities. One of the key points of forming a club is that ‘it must be something the crew members can participate in together.’ Currently, there are eight clubs operating at Nota, with over 70% of all employees participating.

Today, I’d like to introduce you to four of the clubs that are dedicated to hobbies and leisure at Nota.

1. Board Game Club: The Heartbeat of Nota’s Excitement

The Board Game Club, the first official club at Nota, was born during a team workshop where members bonded over board games. It quickly gathered enthusiasts who are genuinely passionate about gaming. Since the club emphasizes easy and stress-free participation, most activities are held right in the office. On club days, the Ownership Meeting Room transforms into a mini board game café, and I also visited to check it out. Even with a brief visit, I was introduced to several new games.

Currently, the club owns over 10 different board games, a mix of donated and newly purchased ones. The current favorite? "Dominion," a board game played with a whopping 500 different cards, so vast that you could play it for a lifetime and never encounter all the possible combinations. With such large-scale gaming sessions happening regularly, it feels like everyone’s turning into a pro board gamer!

Since the activities are easy to join and require little commitment, anyone can dive in without feeling overwhelmed. Who knows? While exploring the infinite world of board games, you might just discover a whole new side of yourself. If you're curious about the club’s other game recommendations, why not drop by the Ownership Meeting Room and take a peek?

2. Movie Club: For Those Who Want to Share Their Tastes

Do you watch movies often? I personally find myself rarely watching them because I’m often unsure what to pick or feel like it’s a bit difficult. Wouldn't it be great to get recommendations from others who've seen something that left an impression and then discuss the film together?

That’s exactly what the Movie Club is about—sharing thoughts and tastes through films. Members recommend their favorite movies and vote on which ones to watch together. Sometimes, they even visit theaters to catch new releases.

The highlight of Movie Club activities is the "Movie Talk" that follows the screenings. Members say that the discussions about their impressions after watching a film are the most enjoyable part. You may have seen some of their reviews on the bulletin board by the snack bar! Sharing something you love and having a chance to talk about it is rare, and that makes it more valuable. It’s a great way to discover Notacrew's taste in films while sharing thoughts and building connections. This special experience is something you can only find in the Movie Club. And with a holiday gift exchange planned for the end of the year, it’s a perfect time for film lovers or those looking to discover and share their own tastes to join in!

3. Bowling Club: If You Want a High-Energy Atmosphere

Which club claps the most? That would be the Bowling Club—a place where high-fives never stop, and everyone cheers each other on, regardless of the score or outcome. It started with the simple idea of, “Let’s do something fun together instead of just working all the time,” and has since become a way for members to bond through fun and laughter.

The Bowling Club holds regular sessions, with over 20 official activities so far! Typically, they warm up with one or two practice games, and the final game is a team match where they compete for a round of drinks bet.

One of the club’s defining features is its structured system. After the practice games, they calculate each player’s average score to form balanced teams for the final match, ensuring an exciting and competitive game. The club’s culture is all about equal contribution, encouragement, and cheering each other on for even the smallest achievements. But it’s not just about fun—everyone’s bowling skills are improving steadily. The club has found the perfect mix of fun and skill development.

The Bowling Club is full of high-energy people, so if you’re interested in bowling, want to get to know more colleagues, or just want to spend an energetic evening, come check it out!

4. Nota Art Club: Art Is Life, life is art

What is art? While art can sometimes feel intimidating or complex, with the Nota Art Club, it’s anything but scary! At Nota, it's all about creating something from nothing—and in many ways, our daily lives aren't so different from art. When we think of art, we often imagine beautiful drawings, profound creations, or trips to galleries. But the Nota Art Club helps members discover the artistic elements hidden in everyday life. From learning basic concepts like points and lines, appreciating famous masterpieces, to expressing your own ideas and emotions through creative projects, the club takes you on a journey of exploration.

Led by a club president with a fine arts background, the club introduces art in an approachable and easy-to-follow way.

Time to meet various ingredients!

Imagine a fruit basket. One person might picture a neatly arranged gift basket, another might see a basket overflowing with fruit, while someone else might focus on the basket’s handle, or imagine a person holding it. Even with one clear subject, the results can vary widely. If that’s the case, then aren’t we all incredibly diverse? Through the Art Club, you’ll have the chance to express your thoughts freely, realize that our perspectives can be surprisingly limited, and discover that we are far more diverse and complex than we think. It’s a great opportunity to understand yourself and your fellow Notacrew members better. If you’re looking to expand your thinking and broaden your horizons, the Art Club is the perfect place to start. And with the Nota Art Club, art becomes something easy and approachable—what do you think? Does art seem a bit simpler now?

ㅣBuilding Bonds through Trust and Communication

Once a month, some Notacrew members leave the office a bit early to participate in club activities. Just as Nota encourages hard work with a sense of ownership, it also emphasizes the importance of proper refreshment, promoting healthy club activities. After these activities, it's not uncommon to see crew members returning to unfinished tasks or coming in early to complete their responsibilities, demonstrating their dedication.

Club activities serve as a bridge, connecting Notacrew members. When asked why they joined, members often mention wanting to quickly get to know colleagues as a newcomer or the fun of sharing interests with others. Being part of a club offers the chance to interact with people from different teams and bond over non-work topics. Many Notacrew members appreciate it as a way to connect and share hobbies outside the office. Conversations about club activities often come up, especially when new members join, with questions like, "Have you joined a club yet?" or "Any clubs you're thinking about?" You’ll also hear people chatting about the latest club happenings during morning coffee in the lounge.

Sharing hobbies not only brings energy to the workday but also helps colleagues connect on a more personal level. It adds a special touch of fun to everyday life, making each day feel a bit more refreshing and enjoyable.

ㅣWhat Do You Want To Do After Work?

After learning more about Nota’s clubs, I had the chance to listen to their stories and even joined as a one-day member in some activities. It became clear how many Notacrew members are genuinely passionate about these clubs. Even things you might normally hesitate to try feel more approachable when done together with your colleagues. Exploring new activities often leads to discovering new aspects of yourself, and I hope Notacrew’s daily lives become even more colorful through their hobbies. If you're unsure about what hobby to pick up or find it hard to take the first step, or if you simply want to get to know your colleagues better, I recommend checking out a club.

So, let me ask you again: what do you want to do after work today?
